Kimball’s Michael Robinson shot the medalist round as the Kimball High Boy’s Golf team won their fifth consecutive team championship in winning their own invitational tournament this past weekend at the Four Winds Golf Course. Playing in winds that were steady at 30-40 mph, Kimball shot a team score of 329 to edge past Potter-Dix in second with 336. Creek Valley shot 355, Bridgeport 370, Morrill 413, Sidney JV 424, Bayard 443, Mitchell JV 446, Laramie JV 448, and Kimball JV 458.Robinson’s round of 39-37=76 was extraordinary considering the conditions. He took a triple bogey on hole 14 which kept him from shooting near par.  He did come back to par the back nine. This was his personal third consecutive medalist round. Kimball had their top four golfers finish in the top ten medal group with Jeff Greenwood in with another round of 80 going 38-42 to take third place honors. Todd O’Hare was fifth with his round of 43-43=86, and Kendall Ferguson shot 42-45=87 for ninth.Landon Smith shot 48-46=94. Potter-Dix also had four golfers in the top 10 medal group with Jordon Ottoson second at 40-40=80, and Lance Juelfs fourth at 40-42=82, Kaleb Thomas sixth at 39-47=86, and Jeremy Gasseling tenth at 46-42=88. Beau Huddak also shot 44-44=88 but lost in a scorecard playoff for tenth.Creek Valley, the third place team, had Trai Phillips in seventh with his round of 43-43=86, and Luke Hanson eight at 46-41=87.The Kimball High Golfers had a final warm up tournament at Bayard on Tuesday before heading off to their district and state qualifying tournament on May 19 at the North Platte Country Club. Potter-Dix will move into their district tournament play next week at Chappell.
