With no qualifying rides in the novice open bull riding, Kimball’s Cade Dickerson remains on top of the points board at the Double Bar G Rodeo series in Pine Bluffs, on Friday night. Dickerson threw his leg over a bull to ride but failed to score a qualifying ride. Not including Dickerson, several of the younger rodeo stars will be traveling to The National High School Finals in Farmington, NM next week.  Tim Malm of Albin in Calf Roping, Chance Madsen of Pine Bluffs in Bareback Riding, Riley Pruitt of Gering, Neb. in Calf Roping and Shelby Winchell of Scottsbluff, Neb. in Goat Tying and Barrel Racing.  Shelby and her little sister Libby also qualified for The National Little Britches Finals in Colorado Springs, Colo. in two weeks.   RESULTSShelby Winchell, Scottsbluff, was the only contestant from Nebraska to win any events. She took first place in the Open Goat Tying. In bareback riding Austin Montgomery, Gurnsey, Wyo.,  placed first with Josh Hupp, Cheyenne, Wyo., coming in second. First place honors in Saddle bronc riding went to Jake Buckhaults, Hawk Springs, Wyo., and second went to Josh Leithead, Sterling, Colo.Callie Capraro, Grover, Colo. took first in breakaway roping. She was followed by Kacey Kobza of Brighton, Colo. in second and Skye Martin, VanTassell, Wyo. placing third.    Albin Wyo. native Tim Malm  placed first in calf roping. He was followed by Jim Bob Weil, Kersey, Colo.Team roping had a good turnout this week with the team of Pake Younger, Palisade, Colo. and Ryan Zurcher, Torrington, Wyo. Todd Bishop, Burns, Wyo. and Frank Thompson, Carpenter, Wyo. placed second. Third place went to Ty Correll, Torrington, Wyo. and Jared Bilby, Torrington, Wyo. Correll was also on the fourth place team joined by Sid Merril, Perryton, Texas.Mixed team roping saw Tia Lake, Cheyenne,Wyo. and Matt Smith, Cheyenne, Wyo. place first. Samantha Hoar, Pine Bluffs, Wyo. and Aaron Mordahl, Burns, Wyo. took second. Lexi Bath, Burns, Wyo. and Tim Bath, Burns, placed third.One D Barrell racing top honors went to Carlei Bye, Guernsey, Wyo. Justene Hirsig, Cheyenne, Wyo placed second. Riding out of Laramie, Wyo, Jamie Smith took third and Vickie Kutsch, Torrington, Wyo. took fourth.
