THE FOUR WINDS MEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION held their year end Fun Night and Scramble Monday evening with 39 golfers taking part. Three teams tied for the low score with the three-man team of Tony Robinson, Terry Lovesee, and Keith Prunty receiving the first place honors by virute of a score card playoff. Second place went to Bill Hinton, Charles Carlson, Roger Dohse and third was Chad Wise, Jerry Robbins and Gary Haack, with the top three teams all shooting 31. Fourth place was the team of Rich Flores, Tom Southard, Kenny Watts, one stroke back with a 32. Fifth place went to Aaron Delhay, Henry Heeg, Mike Kelley with a round of 33, winning by score card playoff over the sixth place team of Mick Megowan, Bill Wallace, and Don Trofholz. At the conclusion of play all golfers were treated to a feast fit for the Four Winds Golfers at the Four Winds Trap Club Building. Four Winds Pro, Chad Wise thanked everyone for playing as did president Dennis Exum. A unanimous vote of the golfers re-installed the current set of officers for yet another year with Exum as president, Terry Lovesee-vice president, and Keith Prunty-secretary/treasurer. Playoffs are now underway to determine the two-man league champions and results should be available in the next week or two. THE FOUR WINDS LADIES GOLF ASSOCIATION held their annual tournament on August 4 with Jean Barrett shooting the first flight low gross of 105 and Bernita Brown runnerup in the first flight with 109. Kay Snyder had low net of 78 and Wilma Gilliland 2nd low net of 93. Mary Ann Brothers won the second flight low net of 77. In the third flight Donna Loyd shot low gross of 123 with Charlee Young 2nd low gross of 138. Laura Hall had low net in the third flight with 76 and Betty Fornstrom 2nd low net of 85. Flag prize winners in the first flight saw Wilma Gilliland with the long putt and Bernita Brown with long drive. Mary Ann Brothers had the long putt in the second flight. Betty Fornstrom the long putt in the third flight and Laura Hall lond drive. FARMERS AND FRIENDS GOLF set for tomorrow (Friday) at the Four Winds Golf Course with everyone welcome to participate in the fun. Tee times are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch served at the Kimball Country Club from 11:30 to 1 p.m. The format this year is a two-person scramble with prizes to be awarded along with several flag prizes as well. Cost is $40 per person which includes your golf and lunch. KIMBALL COUNTY MANOR’S four person scramble is scheduled for this upcoming Saturday (August 15) at the Four Winds. This is that wild and crazy format of 3-clubs, including 1 wood, 1 iron and 1 putter per person. Each team must have one female player, or more. Cost is only $80 per team, plus green fees and cart rental if needed. Prizes on every hole and proceeds to help a very worthy cause. FALL SPORTS PRACTICE starts Monday for the Kimball High Athletes and for most area schools although some of the Class A and B schools, along with Wyoming schools, will have an earlier start date. Fall sports at Kimball High include football, cross country, volley ball and girl’s golf. All athletes are urged to get your, physicals taken so you are clear to go at the start of practice. Also be sure and check with your respective coaches as to when practice times are scheduled for the opening days.
