Robert Lee Ohlmann was born January 16, 1932 in Crookston, Nebraska to Albert J. and Wilhemina Elizabeth (Riege) Ohlmann.  He attended  various country schools, and graduated 8th grade from Zion Evangelical Lutheran School in Valentine.  Robert was Baptized and Confirmed at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.Robert served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War.  He received the rank of Corporal.Robert and Sybil Geradene Dentler were married June 22, 1957 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Valentine.  This union was blessed with two children.  Robert and his family lived in Valentine for a number of years where he worked at Ohlmann Block Plant as a mason.  They moved to Kimball, Nebraska in 1961 and owned and operated Ideal Cleaners until 1974. In 1984 Robert and Geri moved to Mitchell, NE.  They operated Modern Cleaners until retirement in 2001.Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and yard work.  While living in Kimball he was a member of the volunteer Fire Department for 12 years.Robert died December 2, 2009 at Regional West Hospital in Scottsbluff, Nebraska at age 77.  He was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Wilhemina Ohlmann, brothers-in-law Dan May and Wayne Horn and great nephew Will Morgan.  He is survived by wife Geri of Mitchell, NE., son Dan and wife Kris Ohlmann of Hortonville, WI; daughter Sandra Risseeuw of Watertown, SD., grandchildren Aaron, Hillary, Stephanie, Andrew and Vanessa Ohlmann, Chelsey (Risseeuw) and husband Eric Elenkiwich, Ryan, Austin, and Allison Risseeuw.  Also surviving are sisters Ramona May of Valentine, Berdien (Eldon) Morrison of Valentine and Gertrude Horn of Omaha, Nebraska.Funeral services for Robert Ohlmann were held Monday December 7, 2009 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Valentine.  Pastor Fleischer officiated at the 11:00 A.M. service.  Burial followed at Mount Hope Cemetery.  Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
