Frank W. Osweiler, 80, of Potter, died at Memorial Health Center Extended Care in Sidney on Monday, January 18, 2010.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Donella Silveira officiating.  Inurnment will be held following the service at the Potter cemetery.  Memorials have been established to the Potter Rescue Unit or St. Hilda’s Episcopal Church.  Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Frank William Osweiler was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on May 15, 1929, the son of Frank and Lillian (Nowak) Osweiler.  He attended school in LaCrosse and graduated from the Catholic High School in 1947.  Frank enlisted in the US Navy and served his country during the Korean War from December 31, 1947 until being honorably discharged on December 15, 1952.  He was married to Janis Seimers in Denver, Colorado on September 1, 1972.  While living in Colorado Frank worked as a salesman for about 20 years.  He moved to Potter where he and Jan owned and operated the Potter Sundry two years.  He returned to Denver to manage apartments for 10 years.   He was a travel relief manager for Motel 6 in California for five years.  When he retired he returned to Potter and has lived there with his wife for the last 15 years.

Survivors include his wife Janis of Potter; children from a previous marriage Jim Osweiler of Santa Barbara, CA., Mark (Josie) Osweiler of Parker, CO and Joan (Crockett) Trotter of Parker, CO; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren..  He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
