Mr. Virgil Eugene Petsch, 69, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Albin, Wyoming, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 26, 2010, at the home he has shared with his mother in Cheyenne for the past year.

Virgil was born December 31, 1940, in Imperial, Nebraska, the son of Joe and Mabel (Donze) Petsch.

Virgil graduated from Albin High School and spent his entire working life at the Y6 ranch in Meriden.  When he retired, he returned to Albin and has cared for his mother for the past five years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and liked to fish and tell all the tales that accompany that sport.  He hunted for deer, antelope, elk, turkeys and ducks, and the dates to acquire his hunting licenses were always of prime importance.  He liked to tell stories about his ranch experiences and times spent with his many friends.  Playing cribbage was a favorite pastime.

Virgil is survived by his mother, Mabel Petsch; his sister, Joan Cole and husband, Bill; his nephew, Cory Cole and Dawn Bolander; his niece, Lori Peterson; two great-nephews, Richard Peterson and fiancée, Kate Hartman, and Dillon Cole; two great-nieces, Kara Peterson and Jessica Cole; and one great-great nephew, Blake Peterson.  He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Petsch.
