Paul F. Cory Jr., age 85 of Sidney, NE  passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Memorial Health Center Extended Care in Sidney.

Cremation has been held.  Memorial services are pending and will be announced when available.

Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to Night of Hope, 645 Osage, Sidney, NE  69162 for use by MHC Hospice.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service is in charge of Paul’s care and funeral arrangements.

Paul Frank Cory Jr., the son of Paul Frank and Mary Thelma (Mau) Cory Sr., was born on November 27, 1924 at Cokeville, WY.  He attended schools in Cokeville and graduated from Cokeville High School.  Paul joined the United States Army and served in World War II as an Army Paratrooper.  He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals.  Upon his return to the states, he enrolled at the University of Wyoming, graduating in 1950.  He made his home in Basin, WY where he owned the indoor theater and later built the drive-in theater.  He eventually owned a string of theaters throughout Wyoming and Colorado.  Later in his life he went into the auto sales business with his son-in-law Dennis DeNovellis, with offices in Sterling and Sidney.

Paul had been a Certified Flight Instructor, enjoyed playing golf and was a former Mason and Shriner.

Survivors include (1) son:  David L. Cory of Kimball, NE; (1) daughter:  Sherry DeNovellis and husband Dennis of rural Potter;  (2) grandchildren:  Dustin DeNovellis and wife Brooke of Sidney and Sandie Cory of Denver, CO;  (3) great-grandchildren:  Cameron, Jordan and Deacon; (2) brothers:  Robert Cory and wife Florence of Surprise, AZ and Richard Dimond Los Angeles, CA and (1) sister:  Marion Gapp and husband Donald of Coronado Island, CA and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.                    Paul was preceded in death by his parents; (1) brother:  William Cory and (1) daughter:  Karen Conner.
