Lucille I. Westling, 89, of Kimball, died at her home in Kimball on Tuesday, March 30, 2010.  Cremation has been held and a memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Reverend Roger Gillming officiating.  Inurnment will be held in the Big Springs Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials have been established to the Kimball County Manor.  The services for Lucille have been entrusted to Cantrell Funeral Home.

Lucille Iona Westling was born on the family farm south of Lodgepole on May 17, 1920, the daughter of Elmer and Minnie (Galvin) Williams.  She was raised south of Lodgepole on a farm near the Colorado State Line and attended school in Sedgewick, CO., graduating in 1938.  She was married to Arthur Westling in Bridgeport, NE on September 30, 1939.  The family farmed North of Julesburg, CO until moving to Kimball in 1956.  Upon moving to Kimball, Lucille worked at Hesteads Department Store, she later worked at the Kimball County Manor as a nurses Aid until her retirement.  She loved yard work and always took great pride in the appearance of her yard.  She also loved cooking and providing meals for the farms hands that helped the family while they were farming.

Survivors include her son Kenneth Westling of Denver, CO; daughter Sylvia (Robert) Rowe of Kersey, CO; sister-in-law Eleanor Williams of Julesburg, CO; grandchildren Roger Petersen, Robert Petersen. April Plantiko and Gerald Bucco; 3 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Archie and Carl Williams.  The family would like to thank Fyrn Shepard, Della Mae Mader and Emalyn Fritzler for their many years of help and friendship.
