In their last game in Kimball uniforms, Kayli Rageth and Cierra Pedersen shined in Saturday’s Panhandle Prep All-Star Game at WNCC’s Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff.

The Blue team won with a score of 91-74.

“It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun,” said Rageth who scored 22 points, seven rebounds, and six steals for the Gold team.

“I really enjoyed playing with people who I have played against all these years and getting to know them,” she said.

Pedersen, who started for the blue team, showed impressive ball handling and good defense to help lead the Blue team to a 91-74 victory.

“It was extremely fun and a privilege to play with these girls.” said Pedersen. “We played really well together because of our good chemistry.

“We just went out there playing with the mentality of ‘just have fun’,” she said.

Rageth came in the second half of the first quarter for the Gold. She got off to a fast start by getting two steals and converting on a 3-point play within two minutes of entering the game.

The Gold team went on a 13-0 run in the second quarter cutting the lead to three.

Rageth hit a 3-pointer with seven seconds left in the first half to make the score 47 -34.

But it was the Blue team that ruled the day jumping out to an early lead, 25-11, and never letting it go.

The Blue lead was held throughout the second half due to their rebounding and inside shooting.

Mullen’s Megan Hoesing, Blue team, was named MVP of the game and Hay Springs’ Trisha Kudrna, Blue team, was given the Sports Racquet Sportsmanship Award.

In the 3-point contest Pedersen shot well hitting eight, just three short of the winner, Sydney Schroer of Ogallala.
