Eloise M. Jackson, age 75 of Sidney, NE  passed away Saturday morning, July 17, 2010 at the Emerald Court Care Center in Scottsbluff.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 21st in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastor Eric Meissner officiating.  Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends were able to stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Tuesday from 1-7:00 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made in Eloise’s name to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Sunday School or the Angel of Hope Project.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service is in charge of Eloise’s care and funeral arrangements.

Eloise Maxine Jackson, the daughter of John Wilfred and Edna (Callaham) Snyder, was born on January 22, 1935 at Harrisburg, NE.  She attended grade school at Twin Tree and graduated from Banner County High School in Harrisburg.  Eloise was active in sports and was a cheerleader for three years.  On June 1, 1952, Eloise was united in marriage to Richard Jackson at Kimball, NE.

Eloise worked as an Activity Director at a nursing home for a time before becoming a homemaker and daycare provider.  She taught Sunday School and Bible School for forty-five years.

Survivors include her husband:  Richard Sr. of Sidney; her children:  Cindy Patterson and husband Tom of Casper, WY, Lana Butts and husband Greg of Sidney, Dick Jackson Jr. and wife Shawnda of Sidney, and Charles Jackson and wife Sondra of Denver, CO; (1) brother:  J.W. Snyder and wife Janice of Harrisburg, NE, (1) sister:  Marlene Carlson of Kimball; (14) grandchildren and (13) great-grandchildren.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father:  Otto “Doc” Nagel, an infant sister:  Alice and a great-grandson:  Jonas Phillips.
