Jane E. Townsend, 75, of Kimball, died at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne on September 29, 2010.  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Presbyterian Church in Kimball with Pastor Matt Machacek and Pastor Alan Foutz officiating.  Cremation has taken place.  The family asks that memorial be given in Jane’s name to the National Kidney Foundation.  The arrangements for Jane have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Jane Elisabeth Townsend was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on November 15, 1934, the daughter of Miles and Annabelle (Schultz) Oberg.  She was raised and attended school in Monticello, MN graduating in 1952.  Jane attended Platte Valley Bible College in Scottsbluff.  She was married to Eddie Townsend in Denver, CO on April 13, 1984.  They lived in Denver for 9 years and then lived in several places in the United States and also lived in Germany from 2001 until 2006 while Eddie employed by the US government.  They moved to Kimball in the spring of 2006.  Jane enjoyed playing the piano and organ for many churches.  She taught piano to many students through out her life.  She was an avid Denver Broncos fan.  She loved to travel around the states, enjoyed going on cruises with her husband.  She enjoyed reading and loved pets, especially dogs.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Eddie of Kimball; daughters Jeannie (Bob) Skinner of Kimball and Jodie (Gary) Garcia of Arvada, CO; sister Janis (E.C.) Rand of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren Syeeda, Marlon, Leland, Curtis and Aretha Clark.  Her parents and a brother Miles Jr. preceded her in death.
