Vincent “Vince” Hugh Cortney,  46, of Vancouver, Washington died in Evanston, Wyoming October 13th, 2010 while traveling home to rejoin his family.   A Christian Wake Service was at 7 p.m. Sunday, October 17th at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Kimball, Nebraska with Father Edward Cortney and Father Robert Karnish officiating.  Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 18th at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Kimball, Nebraska with graveside services following at the Kimball Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Vincent Cortney memorial fund.  Cantrell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Vince was the seventh of eleven children born May 14th, 1964 to Ronald and Blanche (Tindell) Cortney in Kimball, Nebraska.  He attended Kimball Public Schools graduating from Kimball County High School in 1983.  He lived and worked in Kimball before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada where he graduated from ITT Technical College as an Electrician.  Vince worked as an electrician in the Las Vegas area for many years before moving to Washington where worked as an electrician and crew foreman the remainder of his life.   He met the love of his life Corazon “Cora” Sadiz Sace, while bowling.  They were married in the Catholic Church March 24th, 2001 and had two beautiful daughters who were the light of Vince’s life, Caitlin Sace Cortney and Cynthia Sace Cortney.  Vince was a very good daddy and husband.  Vince and Cora demonstrated to their daughters the important things in life are God, family, and friends.  Feeling that God was the driver and he was the grateful passenger, was how Vince lived his life.  Spending time with his wife and raising their daughters together were the highlight of Vince’s life.  He enjoyed training and playing with his Yellow Labrador, “Sace”, bowling, fishing with his brothers and spending time with family and friends.  Vince was an avid Husker football fan.  He was a member of Saint John’s Catholic Church in Vancouver, Washington and a devoted husband, father, and brother.  Vince will be sorely missed by his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor, his devotion to his family; his willingness to help out whenever needed, and loving, compassionate nature.

Survivors grateful for sharing in Vince’s life include his loving wife Cora and devoted daughters, Caitlin and Cynthia; siblings Michael Cortney and wife Lisa of Portland, Oregon, David Cortney and wife Teresa of Edgemont, South Dakota, Linda Moul and husband Wendell Moul of Greeley, Colorado, Daniel Cortney and wife Myra of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, William Cortney of Kimball, Nebraska, Jean Klassen and husband Tim Klassen of Chadron, Nebraska, Robert Cortney and wife Casey of Sidney, Nebraska, Ron Cortney and wife Kristi of Kimball, Nebraska,  Cynthia Brunwig and husband Brian Brunswig of Granby, Colorado and numerous nieces, nephews,  great nieces and nephews,  aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.   Vincent was preceded in death by his; father, Ronald Cortney, mother, Blanche Cortney, sister, Judy Cortney, and paternal and maternal grandparents.
