Donald Ray Clinger, age 94, of Kennewick, passed away September 28, 2010. He was born in Minden, Nebraska to Millard and Ellen Clinger. Don came to Kennewick in 1937 and was employed by Church Grape Juice Co. until 1941 at which time he enlisted in the US Coast Guard.

He served in Washington and Oregon performing offshore patrol work during WWII. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to his previous employer which became Welch Grape Juice Co.  Some years later, he was employed by the local John Deere Dealership as parts manager until retiring in 1975.  Don married Coral Jones on October 26, 1941. Coral preceded him in death in 1992.  They spent 50 happy years together. After his retirement they traveled much of their spare time in the great southwest with many snow birds. They developed many friendships during these outings.  Survivors include 3 daughters: Shirley (Wayne) Reynolds of Orem, Utah; Diane (James) Gotts, and Joyce (William) Brannigan all of Kennewick.  Also surviving are siblings Ellen Wood,  and brothers Kenneth and Howard.  Brothers Melvin and Gordon preceded him in death. Don has 11 grandchildren; Kelly, Randy, Heidi, Jodi, Robyn, Derek, Shanee, Daniel, Kara, Lindsey, ad Whitney.  He also has 22 great grandchildren. He also had a special friend Macel Gregg.
