Myrtle Wynne, age 96, of Gering, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Heritage Estates in Gering.  Her funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Garry Schick officiating.  Graveside interment services were held at 2:00 p.m. at the Kimball Cemetery.   Memorials in her name may be made to the Zion Evangelical Church.  Friends were able to call at the Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Her obituary may be viewed online at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com where online condolences may be made.

Myrtle was born March 10, 1914, in Dix, Nebraska to Charles and Selma (Johnson) Brothers.  She grew up in rural Dix, and during her elementary years she attended school in a one room schoolhouse in rural Dix.  She graduated from Dix High School and following her graduation, she worked with her family on the family farm.  On September 9, 1936, she married Kenneth Wynne in Scottsbluff.  She and her husband ranched and farmed on a ranch north of Dix.  She continued to live on the ranch until 1994, when she moved to Scottsbluff, later moving to Northfield Villa in Gering.

Myrtle enjoyed music, playing the piano and also doing needlework projects and was a long time member of the Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff.

Survivors include her brother Dewey (Betty) Brothers of Scottsbluff; sister-in-law Dorothy Brothers of Kimball, NE; brother-in-law Jim Wynne of Eugene, OR; nephews Darrel (Charlotte) Brothers of Denver, CO, Roger (Diann) Brothers of Dix, NE and Dennis (Pat) Brothers of Potter, NE and her special friend and care giver Donna Munoz of Gering.

Her parents, her husband Kenneth, a brother Glen Brothers, a brother-in-law Alva Wynne of California; a sister-in-law Loretta Southerland of Oklahoma and a niece Lana Kay Clarey of Scottsbluff preceded Myrtle in death.
