Ardis Jean Rahe, 84, of Kimball died at Kimball Health Services on Tuesday, October 26, 2010.  Services will be held at Cantrell Funeral Home on Friday, October 29th at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Lynda Parson officiating. Burial will be held in the Kimball Cemetery. There will be no visitation.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Kimball Historical Society.  The services for Ardis have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Ardis Jean Rahe was born on June 23, 1926 on a farm near Callaway, NE, to Gerald and Bernice Clinebell.  She attended schools in and around Arnold, NE. graduating in 1944.  After receiving her teaching certificate from Kearney State Teachers College, she taught school for one year north of Lodgepole and two years west of Sidney in one room school houses.

Ardis married Delmar “Bud” Rahe on June 22, 1947 at Arnold Christian Church, a marriage that lasted sixty-one years until Bud’s death in October 2008.  To this union was born three children, Sandra, Barry and Vicki.  In 1969, Ardis and Bud relocated to Kimball from Lancaster, CA when they purchased a Western Auto store.  Later Ardis worked for Kimball County Road and Weed Dept. until her retirement in 1988.  Ardis was a member of theTrinity United Methodist Church and active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Kimball Genealogical Society.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra (Al) Valdivia and Vicki (Hal) Schindler: granddaughters, Rebecca (Scott) Holovack and Kristin (David) Nelson; grandsons Samuel (Katie) Schindler and Daniel (Jenny) Valdivia; five great-grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud, son Barry and twin brother Marvin Clinebell.
