Eugene A. Dedic, 64, passed away December 8th, 2010 at his home in Casper surrounded by his wife and children.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11th at College Heights Baptist Church in Casper.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends and family to consider a memorial to Amedisys Hospice c/o of the Dedic family at 504 Swanton Avenue, Casper, Wyoming 82609. Gene was born January 12, 1946 in Kimball, Nebraska to Emil & Gertrude Dedic, he graduated from Dix High School in 1964 where he was a multi-sport athlete.

He married Janie Martin on May 15, 1964, in Kimball, Nebraska. The couple lived and farmed south of Dix, Nebraska.  Gene later spent 28 years working in the oil fields of Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota, and Wyoming.  The last of his working years, he owned and operated Wyoming Hot Wings in Casper, Wyoming.

Gene loved the outdoors, an avid hunter in his younger years.  His children and grandchildren later became his passion, spending endless bleacher hours watching them play sports or attend programs.  His heart, business and home were open to anyone who needed help.  Over the years, several multi cultured young people away from their homes, have enjoyed the comfort of a warm family meal,  holiday celebrations and/or an extended stay in the Dedic home.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janie.  One son Joseph, a daughter and son-in-law Richard and Karey L’lama, 5 grandchildren: Olivia, Carter, and Lauren L’lama and Maddison and Paighten Dedic, all of Casper, Wyoming, one brother Larry of Scottsbluff, Ne. and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death are his parents.
