The Potter-Dix Lady Coyotes worked out their scoring issues of the opening weekend and slammed down two wins this weekend, one against Creek Valley and the other against Paxton. The double win weekend pushed their record to an even .500 standing at 2-2.

The Lady Coyotes blew away Creek Valley on Friday winning 53-20.

The Ladies took the lead in the first going up 8-2. By half time they held an 8 point lead, 20-12.

It was the third quarter where they really slammed the defense on Creek Valley. The Coyotes held the Storm to two points while netting 20 for themselves. After tallying up another 13 points in the fourth, the Coyotes walked away with the 53-20 win.

The team was led by Tiffany Lebeau in scoring as she netted 13. She was followed by Connor Wolff with 10, Amanda Maas had 9, Stephanie Mitchell, 8, Sam Egging 6, Bailey Long, 3, and Maranda Heitman and Dani Jones 2.

Riding the wave of victory into the second game of the weekend, the Coyotes opened the game against Paxton with an 11-0 run to take the lead.

Paxton was able to narrow the gap some in the second as they outscored the home team 13-7.

Going in to the lockers at half-time, the Coyotes held on to a 18-13 lead.

Paxton came out hard in the third as they closed the distance, outscoring the coyotes 10-9. Still, Potter-Dix held on to the lead. At the end of the third the scoreboard read, Potter-Dix 27, Paxton 23.

The ladies took to the net in the fourth and secured a win netting 16 compared to Paxton’s 12.

Wolff and LaBeau once again led the team in scoring with 15 and 11 respectively. Dani Jones was next on the stat sheet with 6, Mitchell had 4, Heitman had 3, and Egging and Taylor Holz rounded out the scoring with 2 each.

Defensively LaBeau led in steals with 8. She was followed by Heitman with 7.

Wolff led the team in rebounds for the weekend with 12. Mitchell was right behind her with 10, Jones had 9,  Egging was next with 8, LeBeau had 7, Maas 5, Kristyn Barnes had 3, and Heitman had 2.

LaBeau led the team in weekend steals with 8, Heitman was hot on her tail with 7, Jones and Wolff had 3, and Egging and Holz had 2.

Heitman led in assists with 7, LaBeau had 2.

Egging led in block shots swatting away 2.

The Ladies will play one more game before taking the Holidays off. They travel this week to Caliche, Colo. on Saturday.

They return on Jan. 7 to take on Bayard, in Bayard. They will not be home again until Jan. 8 when they play South Platte.
