William “Billy” Hinton, 69, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Monday, March 7, 2011.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Reverend Hod Boltjes officiating.  Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m.  Memorials may be given to the William Hinton memorial fund at Firstier Bank in Kimball.  The arrangements have been entrusted to Cantrell Funeral Home.

William “Billy” Hinton was born in Clebit, Oklahoma on October 28, 1941, the son of Curtis and Thelma (Needham) Hinton.  He was raised and attended school in Oklahoma, Texas and Nebraska.  Billy enlisted in the US Navy on December 16, 1958 and honorably served his country.   He was discharged on October 16, 1962.  Billy was married to Janice Sheppard in Kimball on September 26, 1964, the love of his life who he met at a roller skating party in Kimball.  He worked many different jobs in the oil field through out his career, working for Orbit, Z & S Construction, Castronics and Don Gregory.  Billy retired in 2004.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  His grandchildren were the highlight of his life and he enjoyed supporting them in any of their activities.  He also enjoyed cat fishing and playing pool.

Survivors include his wife Jan of Kimball; sons Bill (Wesla) Hinton and Bob Hinton both of Kimball; brothers Curtis Richard Hinton and Curtis Lee Hinton; sisters Betty Hanna, Faye Giles and Jeannie Thielmann; grandchildren Tara (Matt) Heaton, Tanner, Ryan, Trendon, Trevan, Regan, Raelynn and Riley; great granddaughter Joslynn Heaton and soon to be born grandson Keegan Hinton; numerous other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a number of other relatives.
