Ronald L. James, 71, of Dix, died at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff on Wednesday, March 2, 2011.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Kenneth Mars officiating.  Cremation will be held following the service and inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in the Dix Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m.  Memorials have been established to St. John’s Lutheran Church.  The services for Ronald have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Ronald Lee James was born in Kimball on May 25, 1939, the son of Ben and Helen (Campbell) James.  Ronald was baptized into the faith of God on March 17, 1940, which was Palm Sunday.  He attended the Dix Schools and graduated from the Dix High School in 1957.  He attended Colorado State Agriculture and Mining School for two years.  Ron returned home and began farming in the Dix area.  He was confirmed into his faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball on January 10, 1961.  Ron was married to Sylvia Baack in Kimball on March 5, 1961 and has been a member since that time.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Sylvia James of Dix; son David (Jennifer) James of Denver, CO; daughter Terri (Hobert) Brown of Southlake, TX; brother Rodney (Lois) James of Kimball; grandchildren Drew and Reed Brown and Ellie James.  His parents and son Douglas preceded him in death.
