Darlene J. Frank, 64, of Kimball, died at Kimball Health Services on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Kimball Presbyterian Church with Pastor Alan Foutz officiating.  Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m.  Memorials have been established to the Kimball Presbyterian Church.  The arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Darlene June Frank was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on June 18, 1946, the daughter of Melvin and Goldie (Stecks) Eby.  She moved with her family at an early age to Kimball and attended the Kimball Schools.  She graduated from the Kimball County High School in 1964.  She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, majoring in Business.  She was married to David Frank in Kimball on August 22, 1965.  The family made their home in Kimball.  Darlene worked at the Kimball County Hospital as a nurse’s aid.  She then worked at the Kimball Library, where she was in charge of the bookmobile, and delivering books to the country schools in Kimball County.  She also ran the scale house during beet harvest in Kimball County. She was currently employed at Firstier Bank in their Bookkeeping Department.  Darlene loved her church and was the chairman for the 100th anniversary celebration of the Kimball Presbyterian Church.  She was a charter member of Beta Chi Sorority, a member of the Young Wives Extension Club and was serving as secretary of the Kimball Library Board.  She enjoyed reading, making crafts and scrapbooking.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband David of Kimball; sons Brian Frank of Kimball and Michael (Brenda) Frank of Scottsbluff; brother Wesley (Connie) Eby of Tacoma, WA; sisters Joanie Olsen of Ft. Collins, Co. and Irene Futch of Greeley, CO.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dick Eby.
