Jeanette E. Nelson, 90, of Cheyenne, went to be with her Lord, on Sunday, July 24, 2011.  Her wishes to have her body donated to science were carried out with Science Care in Aurora, Colorado.  Memorial services and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the OES/Masonic Lodge Scholarships Fund, the UMC Scholarship Fund or the charity of the donors choice.  Her services have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

 

Jeanette Ella Nelson was born in Genoa, Nebraska on August 20, 1921, the daughter of J.I. and Pearl (Long) Lamb.  Her family moved to Kimball in 1931 and she attended and graduated from the Dix High School in 1939.  Jeanette was married to George I. Nelson on August 2, 1941.  She worked for the State of Nebraska and after 30 years of service she retired.  She was an active member of the Truth Chapter #262 of the Order of the Eastern Star, she was also active in the Trinity United Methodist Church.

 

Survivors include her daughters Cathy Graham of Evanston, WY., Peg (Rick) Craig of Las Vegas, NV., and Edie (Ted) Fifer of Cheyenne, WY; sons Jim Nelson of Brighton, CO., Steve (Amy) Nelson of Kimball, NE; son-in-law Robert Roggasch of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law Raymond Nelson of Adak, AK; 20 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Nancy Roggasch and one brother and one sister.
