Jeanette E. Nelson, 89, of Cheyenne, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Her wishes to have her body donated to science were carried out with Science Care in Aurora, Colorado. Memorial services and celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on August 27, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the OES/Masonic Scholarship Fund, the UMC Scholarship Fund or the charity of the donor's choice.

Jeanette Ella (Lamb) Nelson was born in Genoa, Nebraska, on August 20, 1921, the daughter of J. I. and Pearl (Long) Lamb. Her family moved to Kimball in 1931 and she attended and graduated from the Dix High School in 1939. Jeanette was married to George F. Nelson on August 2, 1941. She worked for the state of Nebraska and after 30 years of service she retired. She was an active member of the Truth Chapter #262 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also active in the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughters Cathy Graham of Evanston, Wyoming, Peg (Rick) Craig of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Edie (Ted) Fifer of Cheyenne, Wyoming; sons Jim Nelson of Brighton, Colorado, Steve (Amy) Nelson of Kimball; son-in-law Robert Roggasch of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law Raymond Nelson of Adak, Alaska; 20 grandchildren and numbers great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Nancy Roggasch, one brother and one sister.
