Jackie L. Stines, 75 of Sidney, passed away at her home late Wednesday evening, September 14, 2011.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, in the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel with Shari Walsh officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Potter Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation has been held.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jackie’s name to the Sidney Public Library Foundation. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service is in charge of Jackie’s care and funeral arrangements.

Jackie Louise Stines was born on October 16, 1935, in Iliff, Colorado, on a family homestead to Katie and Arthur Young.  During her early childhood years she was raised in Sterling, Colorado, moving to Potter when she was 12 years old.  She attended Potter Public Schools, graduating as Salutatorian in 1953.  She married Kenneth Stines on September 4, 1953, and to that union were born three daughters, Amber, Tami and Melody.  Jackie and Kenny worked at Katie’s Place for her mom in Potter for many years.  Jackie ran the little local café up the street from Katie’s Place for four years, before going to work at Decker’s Market in Sidney. She worked for Bob Decker for many years, making lifelong friends, especially her dear friend, Marian Abrams.  In later years, Jackie worked at Cabela’s and retired after 23 years.

She loved spending time with her daughters, sister, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her hobbies were reading, baking and flower arranging.

Jackie is survived by her sister Denice and husband Jim Culek of Kimball; (3) daughters:  Amber and husband Don Nielsen of Potter, Tami and husband Barry Kramer of Greeley, Colorado, and Melody and husband Mitch Wagy also of Greeley; grandchildren:  Jeremy, Michael and Sara Gipfert all of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Eric Moeller of Denver, Jessica Walsh of Brooklyn, New York, and Coleman and Dain Wagy of Greeley; great-grandchildren: Jaden, Gage, Gavin, Brynn Marie, Bryson, Cameron and Brooklyn; her special nieces:  Kimberly, Stephanie and Tiffany; great-nieces:  Taylor and Jordyn and great-nephew:  Garrett and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth, her parents:  Katie and Art Young, step-father:  Jim Stewart, (1) sister:  Severa Tribelhorn, (1) brother:  Art Young and special companion:  Dale Langley.
