Beverley J. VanPelt, 77, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor, on Thursday, February 16, 2012.  Memorial services were on Monday, February 20, at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Mel Daves officiating. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held at a later date. Beverley June VanPelt was born in Tell, Texas on October 6, 1934, the daughter of Louis and Ada (Smith) Haney.  She was raised and attended school in Amarillo, Texas. Beverley opened the first foster home for disabled American veterans. She was married to Bud Dudley in Amarillo. Beverley worked as a registered nurse. In 1976 she moved to Wheatland, Wyoming.  She was married to Thomas VanPelt in Wheatland, Wyoming in 1976. She moved to Banner County in 1978 and then to Kimball on May 15, 1991. While living in Kimball Beverley worked at GRI and retired in 1995 due to ill health.

Survivors include her son Joe Buchanon of Port Orchard, Washington; daughters Tonyia Holik and David Rogers and Jellene (Donavan) Erickson all of Kimball, Jackie (Howard) Ramsey of Dix, and Bobbie VanPelt of Bremerton, Washington; 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; special friends Marcia and Dennis Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; daughter Beverly Walker; sons Marty Dudley and Clint VanPelt; sisters Alma Tippett, Jessie Martinez and Dorothy Walker; brother Jake Haney; grandchildren Casey Dudley and Jim VanPelt and great granddaughter Charlee Ann Ramsey.
