Margaret M. Walgren, 89, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.  Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Father Robert Karnish officiating.  Burial was at the Hay Springs Cemetery in Hay Springs. Margaret Mae Walgren was born in Hay Springs on June 13, 1922, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Linden) Walgren. She was raised and attended school in Hay Springs and graduated from the Hay Springs High School in 1940. She worked at the Hay Springs Grocery Store. She was married to Dennis Kirk in Hay Springs on October 23, 1943. They lived in several towns in Nebraska. They moved to Kimball in 1969. Margaret worked at Dairy Queen and the Plains Hotel. She then worked for Patterson Hardware and then for George Risk Industries.  She retired in 2002. Margaret enjoyed flowers and working in her yard. Her three daughters Kathy, Lesia and Darlene were the joy of her life. She also loved her dogs, crocheting and embroidering.

Survivors include her daughters Kathy (Keven) Walker of Dix, Lesia (Tony)  Tiemann of Peoria, Illinois, and Darlene (Phil) Eckland of Morrison, Illinois; brothers LaVern (Mary) Walgren of Washington State and Fred Walgren of Hot Springs, South Dakota; grandchildren  Bryce Eckland and Kandie (Joe) Dino. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Billy Walgren.
